ABOUT DERMAL FILLERS

Call for Pricing

Dermal fillers help to diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness. Each filler is injected to a certain depth under the skin to fill the hollow created from your body’s loss of subcutaneous (facial) fat. By doing this, the skin is plumped and the area of depression is improved. Because each type of dermal filler is made up of a different molecule size and consistency, the area where you want filler will dictate which product is used.

KMA Dermal Fillers

how it works

Hyaluronic Acid Filler: Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that is already found in your skin. It helps keep skin plump and hydrated. HA fillers are typically soft and gel-like. The results are temporary, lasting 6 to 12 months or longer before the body gradually and naturally absorbs the particles. Most HA fillers are infused with lidocaine to help minimize discomfort during and after treatment. FDA approved HA fillers include: Juvéderm products: Juvéderm XC, VOLUMA, VOLBELLA, VOLLURE.

Calcium Hydroxylapatite Filler: is also a naturally occurring substance, found primarily in our bones. When used in a filler, the calcium particles are nearly microscopic and suspended in a smooth gel. The consistency of a CaHA filler is typically thicker than that of a hyaluronic acid filler and typically last longer as well, about 12 months for most patients. Calcium hydroxylapatite is also reported to help stimulate natural collagen production, and it is typically used for deeper lines and wrinkles. FDA approved CaHA fillers include Radiesse®.

Poly-L-Lactic Acid Filler (PLLA): Poly-L-lactic acid filler is a type of injectable treatment used primarily for facial rejuvenation and volumization. As a collagen stimulator, PLLA works by gradually encouraging the body to produce its own natural collagen, which is a crucial protein responsible for maintaining skin elasticity, strength, and overall structural integrity. Unlike traditional dermal fillers that provide immediate volume, PLLA triggers a longer-term, gradual response. Additionally, PLLA fillers are known for their longevity compared to other types of dermal fillers. The results from PLLA treatments can last up to two years or more, making it a durable option for individuals seeking a long-term solution to facial volume loss and signs of aging. Moreover, because PLLA is biocompatible and is gradually absorbed by the body, it is considered a safe treatment with a lower risk of adverse reactions.  FDA approved PLLA fillers include Sculptra®,

It is important that you chose a provider who is knowledgeable, well trained to safely inject the dermal fillers. When injected properly and with the correct technique, filler creates a natural result.

what to expect

New patients will undergo a consultation with one of Kimiko Medical Aesthetic's specialists.  After receiving dermal filler injections, it's normal to experience some redness, bruising, and swelling in the treated areas. These effects usually diminish within 14 days, but please keep in mind that full healing may take up to two weeks.

We will schedule a follow-up appointment for you two weeks after your treatment. During this visit, we'll evaluate your results and discuss any potential touch-ups. To ensure optimal outcomes and to address any remaining swelling, we recommend waiting until after this follow-up to consider additional adjustments.
