Microneedling with SkinPen operates through a gentle, three-phase healing process:
 

• Phase I: Inflammation - The microneedling creates tiny punctures in the skin, prompting your immune system to disinfect the area, remove debris, and increase blood flow to kickstart the healing process.

• Phase II: Proliferation - New granulation cells form, rebuilding the wound and creating a fresh network of blood vessels, which supports the regeneration of healthy skin tissue.

• Phase III: Remodeling - The final phase sees the skin’s surface replaced with newly formed dermal tissues and blood vessels, resulting in a smoother, more youthful complexion.

For optimal results, we recommend a series of three treatments, spaced one month apart, with maintenance sessions every 3-6 months. If treating acne scars or other specific concerns, additional sessions may be needed. For ongoing maintenance, quarterly treatments are often sufficient. what to expect

New patients will undergo a consultation with one of Kimiko Medical Aesthetic's specialists.  We'll recommend a course of treatment based on your individual goals such as prevention, maintenance, textural/wrinkle improvement, or acne scarring. On your treatment day, before photos will be taken and a topical numbing agent will be applied prior to your treatment. There is minimal pain. Most patients report feeling only the slight vibration during the procedure.The treatment time varies on the area being treated. A face treatment takes about 45 minutes to an hour. You will be provided with Skinfuse® LIFT, a clean, non-cytotoxic hydrogel used to prevent the skin from drying out post-treatment.

Immediately post-procedure, the skin will appear slightly pink to red, similar to a mild to moderate sunburn. Dryness, rough skin, tightness, redness, itching, peeling, mild tenderness, and burning are also possible side effects. However, these only last a few days to a week and resolved without any further complications.
